Nearly Two Hundred Homes Get damaged due to Mini-Tornado

(MENAFN) Nearly 200 homes were damaged on Saturday after a mini-tornado hit the town of Mios in southwestern France, according to reports.

A powerful burst of wind lasting several seconds struck the area around midday, tearing off roofs, causing walls to collapse, and uprooting trees.

Initial assessments indicate that no injuries have been reported.

Emergency authorities said approximately 150 firefighters were deployed to help residents affected by the storm.

The Mios municipality opened an emergency reception center for those impacted, while local residents also took part in relief efforts by securing damaged roofs, removing fallen trees, and clearing debris.

Videos circulating on social media showed trees falling onto roads, garden furniture being blown across yards, and various objects flying through the air during the storm.
